Meet the 2026-2027 Student Body President Kenzie Porter

Kenzie Porter, a junior at Southern Utah University who is double-majoring in Biology and Criminal Justice, will serve as the 2026-27 SUU Student Association (SUUSA) Student Body President. Through her experience as Judicial Vice President in SUUSA, Porter understands the importance of community, leadership, and helping each other create lasting change.
Porter's determination to build an even more welcoming and loving campus pushed her to run for SUU Student Body President, and it will guide the main focus of her campaign: to ensure that everyone's voice is heard.
"The voice of SUU Students is monumental for the growth of our University," Porter said. "Policies direct every decision we make, and our goal is to make sure that those policies benefit the most students."
With her history of leadership roles on campus, Porter has become well-versed in how to navigate unique challenges and make change happen. By applying this crucial knowledge, Porter hopes to put T-Birds' voices into action.
One of the ways she will do this is by improving mental health support. She plans to meet with campus leaders, CAPS, and other services to make resources more accessible and get T-Birds the help they need.
"Everyone struggles with mental health at one point or another," Porter stated. "No matter your position, we want to be there for you."
Porter also wants to gain greater support for student clubs and organizations. It's common for those leading clubs and organizations to feel like they are not receiving enough support. Porter understands this and wants to bring more attention and help to student clubs and organizations so they can continue to thrive.
The Student Involvement and Leadership Office is dedicated to helping T-birds make the most of their college experience, represent the student voice, and work to uplift and improve SUU's campus community. Beyond SUUSA, there are a multitude of student leadership opportunities that T-birds can pursue to get involved with their community and gain essential experience. T-birds are welcome to stop by their office (ST 177) during office hours.
