On The Go Terms and Conditions

Southern Utah University Community on the Go is pleased to facilitate trips for adult travelers. Community on the Go trips are designed to offer cultural and immersive experiences led by SUU experts. Please note that in most cases the University does not conduct tours, nor does it act as an agent for guests interested in tours. Community on the Go acts as a facilitator with tour operators, with whom tour participants make personal arrangements for completing travel. Community on the Go is pleased to act as liaison with tour operators should you have any questions or concerns that arise before, during, or after your tour. Community on the Go encourages you to familiarize yourself thoroughly with the tour operator’s cancellation and refund policies. The University is not responsible for changes to trips or travel arrangements, nor for losses or additional expenses resulting from travel. Community on the Go reserves the right to withdraw its affiliation with any individual tour should conditions warrant.

A $500 deposit is required upon registration to secure your spot. Remaining payment is due 90 days prior to departure date. If registration for a program occurs at or within 90 days prior to the program start, the entire program cost is due. Program price is based on rates in effect at the time the brochure is printed and is subject to change without notice to reflect fluctuations in exchange rates, tariffs or fuel charges.

Payments are refundable up to 90 days prior to the departure date (minus a $100 per person administrative fee). Payments are 50% refundable up to 30 days prior to the departure date. Payments are 20% refundable up to 14 days prior to the departure date. Cancellations 13 days or less before the departure date are non-refundable. Cancellations are calculated from the day written notice is received by Southern Utah University or its travel provider.

SUU Community on the Go from time to time, may take photographs, videotape, film, or make audio recordings in the excursion setting and use such materials to promote SUU programs and for other non-commercial purposes. SUU will never sell or rent this material.

The University and Community on the Go recommend that you consider the purchase of optional travel accident and cancellation insurance. Terms of travel insurance can vary widely and policies should be reviewed with an insurance professional.  Most travel insurance policies will not afford coverage due to government shutdowns caused by infectious disease or pandemic.

On international trips, Community on the Go provides all registered travelers who are U.S. or Canadian citizens with minimal medical, accident and evacuation coverage under our group-travel insurance policy, CISI.

Community on the Go highly recommends you be vaccinated against COVID-19. It is your responsibility to know and adhere to the public health guidelines where you are traveling, and to factor these requirements into travel arrangements and budget. You must provide required health documentation for travel and agree to comply with all health protocols as directed. You must voluntarily assume all risks and related expenses in the event that you or any member of your traveling party require testing or quarantine, become infected with COVID-19 or experience travel interruptions or delays.

Community on the Go adheres to Southern Utah University rules, Department of State recommendations, as well as CDC recommendations for each and every trip destination.
You must be in good physical and mental health. Any physical condition, diet, or treatment requiring special attention or that could create a hazard to you or other travelers must be reported in writing by emailing onthego@suu.edu when the reservation is made. Community on the Go reserves the right to decline to accept anyone on a trip, and to remove from the trip, at his or her sole expense, anyone whose condition is such that he or she could create a hazard to himself or others. You are responsible for becoming familiar with the activities of travel and consulting with medical personnel to be sure you are fit for travel.

It is your responsibility to become informed about the most current travel advisories and warnings by referring to the U.S. State Department’s travel website at www.travel.state.gov or by phone at 1-888-407-4747. In the event of an active State Department Travel Warning against travel to the specific destination location/s of the trip, should The Traveler still choose to travel, notwithstanding any travel advisory or warning, The Traveler assumes all risk of personal injury, death or property damage that may arise out of the events like those advised or warned against.

Itinerary Changes: The itineraries and staff presented in this catalog are subject to modification and change by Community on the Go. Every reasonable effort will be made to operate programs as planned, but alterations may still occur after final itineraries are sent.

We reserve the right to cancel any trip because of inadequate enrollment that makes the trip economically infeasible to operate or because of good-faith concerns with respect to the safety, health, or welfare of the travelers. You are encouraged to purchase refundable airline tickets in case of trip cancellation. Airfare and any other costs incurred by participants beyond money paid to Southern Utah University will not be refundable under any circumstance.
Other Terms and Conditions may apply to some expeditions and will be provided with pre-tour mailings. By registering for a Community on the Go program, the participant agrees to the Terms and Conditions herein.
