IV. POLICY

  1. The University Publications Council, which consists of four (4) students (one of whom is chair) and three (3) faculty or staff members, is established through the University's publications guidelines to maintain a general policy for each student publication. It does not serve as a censor nor involve itself in the day-to-day operation of publications, but assures that they are conducted primarily as organs of student news and opinion and that they seek fairness and accuracy at all times. The chair of the council is selected by majority vote of the council and approved by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the student senate. Student members are selected by the SUUSA president, the council chairman and the council's executive secretary. Faculty/staff members are appointed by the President of the University.
