Welcome to the Safety and Risk Management website. Our site is designed to be a resource for SUU faculty, staff, students and administrators. As part of the Facilities Management Division, our mission is to work closely with you and your department to identify, evaluate and manage risk in order to provide a safe environment for the campus community. We assist with the development of safety and risk programs which include environmental compliance, occupational safety and health, and property and liability insurance.

On this site, we provide links to additional information about commonly used forms (including Certificates of Insurance) and risk-related procedures and policy documents.

Minors on Campus and University Events

Southern Utah University has adopted a policy for Minors on Campus and at University-Sponsored Events (Policy 5.64) to establish safeguards for children under the age of 18 who participate in University activities and programs on campus and at University-sponsored events off campus. The requirements of this policy apply both to organized group activities and activities involving individual minors, such as internships. A number of basic requirements, including program registration, must be met for activities and programs involving minors covered under this policy.

The Minors on Campus and at University-Sponsored Events page will serve as a resource for members of the University community sponsoring and staffing programs and activities involving minors to ensure compliance.
