Staff Association Executive Board 2020

Welcome to the Staff Association

The Objectives of the Association are to: 

  • Advocate for staff by representing and advancing their interests and recognizing the value of their contributions across campus. 
  • Involve staff by encouraging social, service, and professional engagement on campus, in the community and in their field. 
  • Unify staff toward common goals that will advance the University’s mission and goals. 
  • Communicate with campus entities to ensure staff are aware of current information. 

All benefit eligible staff members are members of the Association and have the right to participate in all meetings and to bring forth any concerns or suggestions to the board. 

Current Initiatives

Roundtables - Monthly casual meetings to allow staff members to provide feedback and discuss anything happening on campus.

Anonymous Feedback Form - A forum for staff members to voice feedback which they don’t feel comfortable sharing in any other venue. The overall goal of this form is to increase the Associations ability to hear from everyone.

Ad-Hoc Policy Committee - Created to influence policy development and revision in a way that positively impacts staff. This group reviews policies affecting staff members, advocates for updates, and supports revisions. 

Ad-Hoc Events & Wellness Committee - Created to focus on improving wellness and connecting staff members across campus.

The Staff Association President serves as a co-chair to the Strategic Planning Committee and two board members work to represent the voice of the staff during the strategic planning process.

We are currently working to create a Canvas resource with on-demand training materials for staff. As well as building a regular schedule of training sessions on a variety of topics.
