Web Colors & Fonts

Color is a powerful brand tool and is essential in establishing the University’s identity. Beyond the wordmark, color is the most recognizable element of the brand. The SUU color palette must be used consistently throughout all University-related print and web materials.     • 18 px default size
  • Heading Font:
    • Merriweather
    • Only used for heading levels 1, 2, and 3.

Reds

SUU Red

  • When it's used: Limited to branded backgrounds, calls to action, or approved text.
  • Accessibility considerations: Avoid using as a background with white text unless the text is large or bold.

Alternate Red

  • When it's used: Links and other navigation elements.
  • Accessibility considerations: Best used with white contrast color.

Grayscale

SUU Black

  • When it's used: Branding elements.
  • Accessibility considerations: Use with white or light gray.

Dark Gray

  • When it's used: Text, borders, and icons.
  • Accessibility considerations: Use with white or very light gray.

Gray

  • When it's used: Backgrounds.
  • Accessibility considerations: Use with black text.
  • Note: Other grays are used for background colors, but less often and are not covered here.

White

  • When it's used: Primary background colors, text on dark backgrounds.
  • Accessibility considerations: Can be used with black or reds.
