Admissions

Academic Standards and Admissions Committee

If your high school/transfer preparation or prior SUU academic performance does not meet admission requirements, you may request that your application be reviewed by the Academic Standards and Admissions Committee.

Freshman Provisional Admission

Freshman admission is based on the combination of the cumulative unweighted GPA and highest composite ACT score, or the average of the SAT English and Math scores. An index between 75 and 90 may qualify students for provisional admission to the SUU College Connection program. Your index is in this range and it was requested that you provide additional information to finalize your admission to SUU.

Please explain each answer fully with as much detail as possible.

Transfer and Returning SUU Student Admissions Review

To request a review, you must submit a letter with the following information via email to proctor@suu.edu

  • what caused your academic preparation to be insufficient
  • if there has been a break since your last school attendance, what you have been doing during your time away from school
  • why you want to attend SUU
  • what support network you have established that will ensure your success
  • your academic and career goals
  • your study and academic plans for success

Your letter is part of the evaluation process and is your representative for the Committee. It is essential that your letter be formatted correctly with sentences, paragraphs, spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.. Remember that you are convincing the Committee that you are prepared to take university level courses.

Please include all current contact information - mailing address, phone number, and email address. Also, include your SUU T# if known or your date of birth.

If you have questions or need assistance, you may email Christine Proctor at proctor@suu.edu.
