Meet the Staff of Marketing Communication

SUU Marketing Communication StaffSouthern Utah University’s Marketing Communication Office is responsible for building, maintaining and protecting SUU’s brand in order to increase familiarity and perceived quality of the institution. The office includes experts in branding, marketing, public relations, communication, reputation management, design, photography, and video.

“We provide a positive and interactive experience for the campus community who utilize our services and talents,” said Nikki Koontz, executive director of Marketing Communication. “Through our engaging storytelling, we reinforce the mission and vision of SUU. It is our goal to help grow enrollment, retain students and increase the national reputation of the University.”

The office tells the stories of SUU through a variety of mediums, they hope to inspire students to not only become T-Birds, but to be excited about their time on campus and beyond. A few of the larger projects and requests the Marketing Communication Office can help other departments with include:

  • Marketing strategy
  • Brand oversight
  • Media outreach
  • Photography and video services
  • Promotional materials
  • Event promotion
  • Editorial oversight
  • Crisis management

“We have an amazing team in the Marketing Communication Office,” said Koontz. “We love collaborating with other departments across campus and are always looking for new innovative ways to highlight the uniqueness of SUU. SUU is a really special place and we want to share that with the world. We are here to elevate SUU's reputation and we need everyone's help to accomplish that goal. The Marketing Communication team includes Nikki Koontz (Executive Director), David Bishop (Public Relations Director), Chelsea Howells (Creative Director), Troy Edler (University Videographer), Asher Swan (University Photographer), Derek Payne (Graphic Designer), Lexi Carter (Marketing Manager), Kenzie Lundberg (Content Coordinator), and Kim Sawyer (Administrative Assistant).
