Is a Master of Arts in Arts Administration Worth It?The Master of Arts track in Southern Utah University’s Arts Administration Program is a 36-credit program designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and expertise to work in a variety of fields within the arts industry. This track is offered entirely online and begins with a three-day conference in Cedar City each Fall. This allows students to meet their cohort, become oriented to the program and professors, and engage fully with SUU and the surrounding community.

What Can You Do with a Master of Arts in Arts Administration?

Graduates of this program are prepared for a variety of careers ranging from art education, to grant writing, advocacy, marketing, management, and so much more.

“Graduates of our program go on to work in various positions that are as diverse as the field itself and the many arts disciplines within it,” said Rachel Parker, director of the Arts Administration Program. “Careers can be found in various not-for-profit and for-profit arts organizations as well as in not-for-profit organizations outside the arts arena.”

“The Master of Arts track in the Arts Administration Program is designed to blend a love of the arts with the professional business skills necessary to promote, maintain, enhance, and fund arts organizations,” said Parker. “Coursework on the AA-MA track is done entirely online and can easily fit into even the busiest schedule. Much of the homework throughout the program is geared towards the students’ current employment, which helps the student apply theory directly into practice, and also adds to the convenience of the track.”
