Things to do Within Walking Distance of SUU Campus

Cedar City is an exciting place that has a lot to offer. Not all students can access transportation, but that doesn’t mean they need to miss out on the fun. Cedar City has all sorts of attractions and events on or within walking distance of the Southern Utah University campus year-round. Whether you have a car or not, you don’t want to miss out on these spots!

2dollars2sday - Part of the effort to bring live music to Cedar City, 2dollar2sday features local and traveling musicians. Concerts are held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at 59 N. 100 W and tickets are available at the door before the event begins. Admission is -you guessed it- two dollars per person.

Shakespeare Festival - This is an annual event held on SUU’s campus showcasing different plays, musicals, and works of Shakespeare. For any SUU students who are interested in seeing a production or two, they can purchase a Student Access Pass for around $40

SUMA - Southern Utah Museum of Art is on campus and a must-see for all students!

Main Street- Cedar City Main Street is a fantastic stroll year-round. With everything from restaurants to bookshops and retail, Main Street gives that cozy small-town feel.

Farmers market- Every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 905 South Main local vendors set up to sell produce, homemade goods, artwork and jewelry. 

$5 Sushi Wednesday - Each Wednesday at LIN'S market they sell their delicious, fresh rolled sushi at only $5 a roll!

Axe throwing - Located at 151 S Main, axe throwing makes an awesome and adventurous date night. 

Main Street Park- Perfect for outdoor games or a picnic, this park is a great place to relax on the grass.

Red Hollow Trailhead- A little further from campus, this trail heads right up Cedar Canyon and it is excellent for hiking, mountain biking, and trail running.

Hammock- Rent a hammock from SUU Outdoors or use your own. There are so many spots on campus and at various Cedar City parks that are perfect for relaxing in a hammock.

There are so many fun things to explore year-round in Cedar City. Whether going out with friends or exploring on your own, there's no need to go far with these nearby activities available. Cedar City has a lot to offer so don’t let limited transportation stop you from getting to know your new home!
