SUU Internships
What is an Internship, and What are the Benefits?
Internships are temporary, hands-on experiences that allow students to bridge the gap between their academic studies and real-world applications. By participating in an internship, students gain valuable skills and insights that are highly sought after by employers. These opportunities provide a practical way to explore potential career paths and develop a deeper understanding of their chosen fields.
One of the most significant benefits of internships is the ability to gain direct, relevant experience that sets students apart in today’s competitive job market. Internships help build a foundation of skills that make the transition from school to professional employment much smoother. Additionally, internships often serve as a pathway to permanent employment, increasing the likelihood of receiving job offers after graduation.
Internships can be either paid or unpaid and may be completed for academic credit or solely for the experience.
