Watch Graduation Livestreams

  • SUU Commencement 2020 will take place Saturday, August 8, 2020, on the Upper Quad.
  • The online store to purchase your graduation regalia (cap, gown, tassel and hood) is open and can be found to your left under "Helpful Links." Regalia pick up takes place at the Grad Fair.
  • 2020 Commencement Line Up Map.
  • Graduates and guests are required to wear masks and to physical distance. 
  • In order to comply with contact tracing guidelines established by the state of Utah, graduates and guests will be asked to supply basic contact information once they arrive on campus.   
  • Commencement will be held outside on the Upper Quad. Graduates and guests are asked to prepare for hot weather.
  • Family and friends have the option of watching Commencement from the Upper Quad (limited chair seating will be available and guests can use lawn chairs with proper physical distancing) or inside the following buildings: Auditorium, Hunter Conference Center, Eccles Education Building, and in rooms on the first floor of the General Classroom Building. The ceremony will also be streamed online by SUTV-9 and on SUU's social media channels.

University Festivities

9:30 a.m. - Commencement Procession
Traditional procession that begins on Upper Campus. All graduates will walk under the Carter Carillon and are asked to be on Upper Campus at 9:00 a.m. to line up. 

10:00 a.m. - University Commencement, Upper Quad
The formal ceremony to confer degrees upon SUU's Class of 2020. This university-wide ceremony for 2020 includes the awarding of all degrees. 

Academic College Convocations

Each graduate is individually recognized, called to walk and accept their diploma in their respective academic college ceremony. ALL master's degree candidates (graduate degrees) receive their diplomas in at the 10 a.m. ceremony on the Upper Quad.  

10 a.m. - College of Humanities & Social Sciences, including associate's of science degree in criminal justice, legal studies, and paralegal studies; Upper Quad. 
10 a.m. - College of Performing & Visual Arts; Upper Quad.
10 a.m. - Beverley Taylor Sorenson College of Education & Human Development; Upper Quad.
10 a.m. - Walter Maxwell Gibson College of Science & Engineering, including associate's of science degrees in CAD/CAM, construction technology, equine sciences, information technology, and livestock farm management; Upper Quad.
10 a.m. - Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business; Upper Quad.
