Commencement Updates

Request Commencement Tickets Here

  • Tickets are required for SUU Commencement 2021 and must be requested by April 13. Each graduate can request 2 tickets for the main University Commencement Ceremony, and then up to 4 tickets for the individual College Degree Convocations. Request your tickets here.
  • Additional tickets will be released if available and in compliance with current CDC guidelines. Graduates will be notified via email on April 19, if additional tickets are available.
  • Overflow locations for the University Commencement Ceremony and College Degree Convocations will be in the following locations: America First Event Center 229, Sterling R. Church Auditorium, Sharwan Smith Center Theater, Business Buiding Rooms 126 & 244 & 246, SUU Auditorium, and the Randall L. Jones Theatre.  Ceremonies will be live streamed into each location.
  • Gail Miller to be Keynote Speaker at Commencement. 
  • In an effort to promote COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, SUU Commencement will take place on two separate days: April 30 and May 1. See below to identify which day you graduate.

April 30-May 1, 2021

University Festivities on Friday, April 30

8:00 a.m. - Commencement Lineup on Upper Campus

  • Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business
  • Walter Maxwell Gibson College of Sciences
  • College of Engineering & Computational Sciences
  • College of Humanities & Social Sciences
8:30 a.m. - Commencement Procession
Traditional procession that begins on Upper Campus. Graduates in the colleges designated to graduate on Friday, April 30, will walk under the Carter Carillon and are asked to be on the Upper Campus at 8:00 a.m. to line up. 

9:00 a.m. - University Commencement, America First Event Center
The formal ceremony to confer degrees upon SUU's Class of 2021 within the Leavitt School of Business, Gibson College of Sciences, College of Engineering & Computational Sciences, and the College of Humanities & Social Sciences.

College Degree Convocations on Friday, April 30

Each graduate is individually recognized, called to walk and accept their diploma in their respective academic college ceremony. 

11 a.m. - Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business, America First Event Center. 
1 p.m. - Walter Maxwell Gibson College of Sciences, including SUCCESS Academy, America First Event Center.
3 p.m. -  College of Engineering & Computational Sciences, including associate's of science degrees CAD/CAM, construction technology, and information technology, America First Event Center.
5 p.m.  - College of Humanities & Social Sciences, including associate's of science degrees in criminal justice, legal studies, and paralegal studies, America First Event Center.

1 p.m. - College of Health Sciences, including associate's of science degrees in equine sciences and livestock farm management, America First Event Center.
3:30 p.m. -  College of Performing & Visual Arts, America First Event Center.
