University Festivities

7:00 p.m. - Hooding Ceremony for Master's Degree Graduates, America First Event Center
All master's degree candidates from all colleges will be hooded at this special Hooding Ceremony.  Master's degree candidates are also invited to participate in their individual College Degree Convocations on Friday and accept their diplomas.

7:30 a.m. - Commencement Lineup on Upper Campus

8:00 a.m. - Commencement Procession
Traditional procession that begins on Upper Campus. Graduates in the colleges designated to graduate on Friday, April 28, will walk under the Carter Carillon and are asked to be on the Upper Campus at 7:30 a.m. to line up. 

8:30 a.m. - University Commencement Ceremony, America First Event Center
The formal commencement ceremony that features a keynote address, student speaker, honorary doctorate degrees, and the moving of tassels. Tickets are not required for this ceremony, but seating preference will be made for graduates and their families. The ceremony will be live streamed into overflow locations

Each graduate is individually recognized, called to walk and accept their diploma in their respective academic college ceremony. 

  • 10:30 a.m., College of Humanities & Social Sciences, including associate's of science degrees in criminal justice, general studies, legal studies, and paralegal studies, America First Event Center
  • 12:30 p.m., College of Performing & Visual Arts, America First Event Center
  • 2:00 p.m., Beverley Taylor Sorenson College of Education & Human Development, America First Event Center
  • 3:30 p.m., College of Health Sciences, America First Event Center
  • 5:00 p.m., Walter Maxwell Gibson College of Sciences, including SUCCESS Academy, America First Event Center
  • 6:30 p.m., College of Engineering & Computational Sciences, including associate's of applied science in aviation, associate's of applied science degrees CAD/CAM, construction technology, and information technology, America First Event Center
  • 8:00 p.m., Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business, America First Event Center
