[CEDAR CITY, UT] Southern Utah University (SUU) is launching the Grad Path Program, a new option to help students get a head start on graduate school. The new program allows students to finish their bachelor’s degree while starting their master’s degree at the same time.
“Grad Path is like an express lane to a master's degree,” says Associate Vice President of Graduate and Online Enrollment Tad Brinkerhoff. “It helps our students get an advanced degree faster and at a lower cost, so they are ready to lead in their field.”
A webinar detailing the program will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. Students and parents interested in learning more about the Grad Path Program can attend the upcoming live stream by signing up at go.suu.edu/grad-path-webinar.
The Grad Path Program has three components, which can be combined or utilized separately:
Grad Path Courses: Seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher can take up to 12 credits of graduate classes while completing their bachelor’s degree. This results in fewer classes to complete once in grad school, ensuring a shorter time to graduation and substantial cost savings overall. Grad Path courses in select programs are also available to seniors at partnering schools: Ensign College, Utah Tech University, Southern Virginia University, BYU-Idaho, and Utah Valley University.
Grad Path Direct Admit: Students with a 2.5+ GPA can be automatically accepted into an SUU master’s program (bypassing entrance tests or long applications).
Grad Path Scholarship: Students can qualify for up to $2,000 to begin their graduate program through the Grad Path Scholarship which can be used with other financial aid, helping to reduce the overall cost of a graduate degree. Students who participate in Grad Path Direct Admit will also be automatically considered for the Grad Path Scholarship.
In its 128 year history as Utah’s first experiment in distance education, Southern Utah University’s Graduate and Online Department continues its pioneering legacy by offering to students across the globe affordable and flexible college degrees: 15 master’s, 16 bachelor’s, and 2 associates. This includes several master’s degrees that can be finished in 12 months, and one of the most affordable bachelor’s degrees in the nation: Speedway | Bachelor of General Studies. SUU Online’s combination of affordability, flexibility, and vast student success programs provides an extraordinary education, anytime, anywhere.
