Utah Municipal Clerks Association Institute & Academy
UMCA Institute and Academy is proudly hosted by Southern Utah University on Apr. 1 - Apr. 5, 2024. This year’s conference offers in-person and virtual options to give you more flexibility to earn education points.
Institute is a beginner to an intermediate educational program designed to help individuals enhance their job performance and meet the challenges of the complex role of the municipal clerk. Institute is also the most efficient way to earn the 60 education points required by IIMC to earn the CMC designation. *Academy is included with registration for Institute.
Academy is an advanced continuing education program that prepares municipal clerks to perform complex municipal duties. It is also the most efficient way to earn the 60 advanced education points required by IIMC for their MMC designation.
Professional Development Day is an advanced continuing education program for those who have earned their MMC designation. It is provided during Academy to offer education and networking opportunities for seasoned professionals.

UMCA Conference Course
By successfully completing the UMCA Conference Course, you will earn three credits that may be applied either to an SUU bachelor’s or participating master’s degree. You will have approximately five weeks to finish the course with guidance from Tanner Vario, UMCA Institute Director. This is a self-paced, online course that is designed to enhance your engagement with material presented at Institute and Academy.
Cancellation with a 90 percent refund is available until March. 28, 2024. After that date, no refund is available. RAP submission will be available to paid, registered participants.
