Deadlines

  • Intended Fall graduation                            Oct 15 application deadline
  • Intended Spring graduation                       Dec 1 application deadline
  • Intended Summer graduation                    Dec 15 application deadline
     A $50 late fee is assessed to all applications submitted after the above deadlines

Southern Utah University holds a Commencement Ceremony once each academic year and posts degrees at the end of each academic semester.  Students must apply for graduation before the above deadlines to be considered for graduation and for participation in Commencement.

Students completing their program of study during Fall and Spring semesters are invited to participate in Spring Commencement. Students who intend to complete their program during the following Summer or Fall semester may participate in Spring Commencement. Their name will appear in the following year's Commencement program (during the academic year in which they complete requirements). Students must apply for graduation by the February 15th application deadline to participate.

Online Graduate Application

To apply for graduation, log into the mySUU portal; Click on the Student Menu>Student Records link; Select the Apply for Graduation link.

Online Degree Audit

Your online degree audit is available in the mySUU portal under the DegreeWorks link. All requirements must be checked/met for a student to graduate. Upon review, if you note that any requirements are unmet you should meet with your academic advisor to discuss possible options.

Bachelor Degree Requirements

Catalog graduation requirements are good for 6 years. After that, the student will need to take his/her graduation requirements from a more recent catalog.

Associate Degree (AA/AS/AAS)

Catalog graduation requirements are good for 3 years. After that, the student will need to take his/her graduation requirements from a more recent catalog.

Masters Degree

Catalog graduation requirements, including maximum time to degree completion, are set by individual programs. Please review the details with your program advisor.
