SUU Green Office Program

Green Office Logo The SUU Green Office Program is a semester-based challenge that supports faculty and staff in making everyday office practices more sustainable. Offices earn points from actions they take, from reducing energy use to rethinking office supplies. Participation focuses on measurable progress, with every action contributing to SUU’s campus-wide sustainability efforts.

Whether your office is just getting started or already doing great work, the Green Office Program is here to recognize your efforts and help you keep building momentum!

Step 1: Sign Up

⏱ 18 minutes for first-time offices | 5 minutes for renewing offices

Each participating office selects one or more Green Ambassador for the year.

Ambassadors:

Use the sign-up form to sign their office up each semester
Complete a short (12-minute) training video on recycling and sustainable practices
Share key takeaways with their office
Serve as a point of contact between their department and the Sustainability Specialist

Step 2: Track Your Progress

Track your office's sustainable actions by using the criteria found here: Green Office Program V2.0 Offices are encouraged to keep a shared copy of the tracking document to support coordination and accuracy. Make a copy by pressing on the file drop down in the document and pressing on the make a copy button.

Step 3: Submit

⏱ About 10 minutes

Submit your office's final point total the last month of the semester using the submit button below. Finals Week is the deadline. Scores determine certification levels, rankings, and awards. Every office starts somewhere, and progress adds up!

Awards

The office that gets the highest score each semester gets to hold our Greenest Office Trophy Terrarium to show off. As well we have Bronze, Silver, Gold and Green Offices awards from SUU Outdoors, the SUU Greenhouse and more! Offices that earn Bronze, Silver, Gold or Green Offices will also get a certificate to show off their ranking! Top ten offices will be highlighted on our Sustainability Wall in the Student Center with the complete list of office scores found below.

During Finals week the ranks will be updated and awards will be given!
