Academic Probation & Recovery

SUU is committed to every student's success.

As such, SUU has developed a system of supports for students at each level of Academic Standing. The goal of the system is to help each student return to Good Academic Standing (minimum of 2.0 cumulative GPA) and maintain progress toward their degree.

  • If a student's semester GPA falls below 2.0, they will be placed on Academic Warning.
  • If a student's cumulative GPA falls below a 2.0, they will be placed on Academic Probation.
  • A student who desires to transfer to SUU with a cumulative GPA below 2.0 may be admitted on Academic Probation by the Academic Standards and Admissions Committee.
  • When on Academic Probation, a student must raise their cumulative GPA to 2.0 or above within two semesters (or make progress toward such) or they will be required to withdraw.
  • Students who are required to withdraw due to lack of academic progress may appeal for re-admittance to the University after two semesters.
