University Commencement Ceremony

The formal ceremony to confer degrees on the SUU's Class of 2021.

Tickets are required for SUU Commencement 2021 and must be requested by April 13. Each graduate can request 2 tickets for the main University Commencement Ceremony, and then up to 4 tickets for the individual College Degree Conovcation Ceremony. Request your tickets here.

Overflow locations for the University Commencement Ceremony and College Degree Convocations will be in the following locations: America First Event Center 229, Sterling R. Church Auditorium, Sharwan Smith Center Theater, Business Building Rooms 126 & 244 & 246, Hunter Conference Center's Gilbert Great Hall, SUU Auditorium, and the Randall L. Jones Theatre.  Ceremonies will be live streamed into each location.

Friday, April 30, 2021 

8:00 a.m. • Graduate Procession Lineup • Upper Campus

Graduates from the following colleges should be dressed in cap and gown, and meet on the Upper Quad to participate in the traditional processional:

  • Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business
  • Walter Maxwell Gibson College of Sciences
  • College of Engineering & Computational Sciences
  • College of Humanities & Social Sciences 

8:30 a.m. • Graduation Processional • Upper Quad
The procession passes under the Carter Carillon and ends at the America First Event Center.

9:00 a.m. • University Ceremony • America First Event Center (152 S. 800 W.)
The formal ceremony to confer degrees upon SUU's Class of 2021. This university-wide ceremony includes the keynote and student addresses, and the switching of tassels.

Open to all graduates and their guests. Ticketing may be required, please check back for more details. SUU will follow guidelines issued by the state of Utah at the time of commencement regarding masks and physical distancing. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and guests should be seated 30 minutes prior tot he processional of the graduates at 8:30 a.m. The ceremony will also be streamed online by SUTV-9 and on SUU's social media channels.

 

Saturday, May 1, 2021

College Degree Convocations: Friday, April 30, 2021

All graduate degrees receive their diplomas in their respective college degree convocation ceremonies. 

Guests should be seated 10 minutes ahead to view graduates' processional.

  • 11 a.m. - Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business, America First Event Center. 
  • 1 p.m. Walter Maxwell Gibson College of Sciences, including SUCCESS Academy, America First Event Center.
  • 3 p.m. College of Engineering & Computational Sciences, including associate's of science degrees CAD/CAM, construction technology, and information technology, America First Event Center.
  • 5 p.m.  - College of Humanities & Social Sciences, including associate's of science degree in criminal justice, legal studies, and paralegal studies, America First Event Center.


College Degree Convocations: Saturday, May 1, 2021

All graduate degrees receive their diplomas in their respective college degree convocation ceremonies.

University Commencement and each College Convocation will be streamed live online . The University Main Ceremony will also air live on SUTV.
