Letter From The Vice President for Student Affairs

Dear SUU Resident,

On behalf of the Division of Student Affairs, let me welcome you to Southern Utah University. Your choice to join us at this important time in your life speaks volumes about your character, maturity and drive to achieve your goals. I am especially excited that you have chosen to live on campus and be a member of one of our residence hall communities.

The evidence is clear that students who live in a residence hall – even for just one year – persist at higher rates than other students, have higher grade point averages, and report higher levels of connection to the University at large. I hope that you will find these things to be true of your experience.

I encourage you to be an active member of your community. Speak kindly to your neighbors, get to know and rely on your Resident Assistant (RA), and be yourself at all times. You’ll find that you are a powerful and important part of the world around you and the community of learners you have joined.

I hope you will let me know when I can be of service to you and I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Make it a good day,

Vice President for Student Affairs
Southern Utah University
