External IRB Researchers and Institutions
The SUU IRB welcomes collaboration with external researchers and institutions. This page provides information for individuals and organizations who are not employed by or enrolled at Southern Utah University.
External Researchers Partnering with SUU Personnel
External researchers who are collaborating with SUU faculty, staff, or students on a research project and will be included on an IRB proposal must complete the appropriate CITI training.
A valid SUU username is required to submit an IRB proposal through the SUU submission system. Because of this, the external researcher cannot serve as the corresponding researcher on the proposal. An SUU faculty or staff member must be listed as the corresponding researcher.
External Researchers with no SUU Partner
At least one SUU faculty or staff member is required to be listed on any IRB proposal submitted to SUU. If you do not have an SUU faculty or staff collaborator, you will need to receive IRB approval from your own institution. Your Institution's IRB can then complete a reliance agreement with the SUU IRB if collaboration with SUU is needed.
Please contact the SUU IRB at irb@suu.edu for more information
External Institution IRBs
The SUU IRB will work with any institution that wished to enter into a reliance agreement. This allows for ethical review and oversight of research conducted in collaboration with Southern Utah University.
Requests to establish a reliance agreement can be made by emailing irb@suu.edu
