Southern Utah University Student Association
The Southern Utah University Student Association (SUUSA)—operating within STIL—represents the student voice and builds a vibrant campus culture beyond the classroom. Led by the Student Body President and 10 Vice Presidents who manage specialized branches like Athletic Engagement and the Student Programming Board, SUUSA bridges the gap between students and university leadership. From hosting signature SUU traditions and allocating funding for student clubs to advocating for student interests in campus policy, SUUSA ensures every student has the resources and opportunities to thrive. Want to shape your college experience? Connect with SUUSA to get involved in committees, share your feedback, or lead new initiatives on campus.
Student Senate
The Student Senate meets 6:00pm-7:00pm in the Church Auditorium (first floor in the rotunda).
All students are welcome to attend!
The Student Senate is comprised of eight academic senators, Vice President of Academics, Parliamentarian, and the Assistant to the Senate. This group makes decisions on behalf of the student body and helps work as a liaison between the students and the university administration.
Judicial Branch
The Judicial Branch consists of the Judicial Vice President. The Judicial Branch has the jurisdiction and authority to hear and decide all grievances filed against any officer, governing body of SUUSA and student clubs and organizations, and has the authority to review the SUUSA Constitution, all SUUSA policies regardless of which body has implemented them including all governing body bylaws and rules of order. The duties of the Judicial Branch include: certify and publish election results; periodically review the SUUSA Constitution, governing body bylaws, and all policies and procedures to ensure they are consistent with each other and the SUUSA Constitution; sit on select SUUSA Committees; and serve as student representatives on the University Appeals Board.
