TRiO Student Support Services
TRiO Student Support Services (TRIO SSS) is a federally funded program that helps first-generation students, students from low-income backgrounds, and students with disabilities navigate the college experience. We provide a range of resources, including one-on-one academic tutoring, peer mentoring, financial guidance, and more, to help our students complete their degrees and build a strong foundation for long-term success.

How do I qualify?
Additionally, students must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- First-Generation: Neither parent nor legal guardian has a four-year college degree from a U.S.-accredited university before the student's 18th birthday.
- Low-Income: The student receives federal financial aid (such as a Pell Grant) or the household's taxable income meets federal financial guidelines.
- Disability: The student has a physical or learning disability documented through the SUU Disability Resource Center (DRC).
You can apply for the TRIO program through our online application.
The SUU SSS staff will review applications and invite prospective participants to complete the application process.
