Dixie L. Leavitt is the founder of the Leavitt Group Insurance Agency, one of the largest independent insurance brokerages in the nation. He was also a state legislator for the Utah House of Representatives for several years. He has made a great impact within the university, the local community, and throughout the state. The Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business is so named because of his significant contributions to the university.
