Aviation - Concurrent Enrollment Pathways
SUU’s Aviation Pathways (SUUAP) give high schoolers a jumpstart in the field of aviation flight or aviation maintenance. Students can save time and money by taking a handful of aviation courses before high school graduation.

Pathway Options
After beginning the SUUAP, students may choose between the aviation flight or the aviation maintenance pathways. All students are required to take AVTN 1040: Aviation Orientation. The respective pathway requirements are as follows:
Required Courses
| Aviation - Flight | Aviation - Maintenance |
|---|---|
| AVTN 1040: Aviation Orientation* | AVTN 1040: Aviation Orientation* |
| AVTN 1010: Air Transportation* | AMTG 1200: Introduction* |
| AVTN 1420: Aircraft Systems* | AMTG 1300: General Maintenance 1** |
| AVTN 2050: Meteorolgy* | AMTG 1400: General Maintenance 2** |
*Offered Online
** Delivered on SUU campus
Recommended General Education Courses

While not required for the pathway, taking these General Education (GE) classes can accelerate students’ progress in their chosen program. We recommend adding one or two of these courses to your schedule each semester.
- Written Communication: ENGL 1010 Intro to Academic Writing
- Mathematics: MATH 1030* Contemporary Mathematics
- American Institutions: HIST 1700 American History
*Note: MATH 1030 requires the completion of MATH 1010 or adequate ACT or ALEKS test score.
Recommended Pathway Sequence
While the Aviation Pathway courses may be completed in no particular order, the Concurrent Enrollment team suggests this sequence, beginning during the Fall of Junior year, with one required class each subsequent semester.
| Semester | Aviation - Flight | Aviation - Maintenance |
|---|---|---|
| Junior - Fall | AVTN 1040: Aviation Orientation | |
| Junior - Spring | AVTN 1010: Air Transportation | AMTG 1200: Intro to Maintenance |
| Senior - Fall | AVTN 1420: Aircraft Systems | AMTG 1300: General 1 |
| Senior - Spring | AVTN 2050: Meteorology | AMTG 1400: General 2 |

Post-Graduation & Beyond
After high school graduation, students may continue their chosen aviation program on SUU campus as an undergraduate.
