Library Aide Basics (LAB)

Library Aide Basics (LAB) is a free program designed to provide self-paced training to library media aides or paraprofessionals serving elementary school students. Our goal is to assist aides in learning basic skills and practices that can improve their library services. Each of the seven learning modules includes up-to-date instruction based on proven best practices, current research, and the new standards recently released by the American Association of School Libraries (AASL) in 2018. Principals and school districts are welcome to use LAB for training their library aides or individuals may access the content on their own.
