Career Awareness Speakers
SUU PREP is a free, three-summer academic enrichment program operated by the SUU STEM Center for Teaching & Learning. Designed for high-achieving middle school students with interest and aptitude in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, the program provides rigorous coursework, hands-on learning, collaborative problem-solving, and daily exposure to real-world STEM pathways.
Connections with industry professionals are a core component of the PREP model. By engaging directly with experts from STEM-related fields—especially those representing emerging technologies, local employers, regional workforce needs, and high-demand career areas—students gain an authentic understanding of the opportunities available to them in Utah and beyond. These partnerships help PREP emphasize both the academic rigor and practical relevance of STEM disciplines.
Career speakers play a vital role in this effort. By sharing experiences and insights from your field, you help students see how STEM knowledge is applied in real workplaces, how innovation happens within industry, and how they can begin preparing now for future success. Speaker participation not only expands student awareness of possible pathways but also strengthens PREP’s mission of building meaningful, sustainable bridges between education and the workforce.
