Field Trips
Field trips are an essential part of the PREP model, offering students the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and see STEM in action. Designed for high-achieving middle school students participating in our three-summer academic enrichment program, these visits connect directly to PREP’s mission of expanding students’ understanding of real-world STEM pathways.
By bringing students into workplaces, laboratories, facilities, or active project environments, field trips allow them to observe firsthand how STEM concepts, technologies, and problem-solving skills are used in professional settings. These experiences deepen their awareness of local and regional industries, illuminate a wide range of career possibilities, and help them envision how their own interests could translate into future opportunities.
Targeted industry connections are especially valuable. When students meet professionals, explore tools and processes, and see real applications of STEM innovation, they gain insight that cannot be replicated in a classroom. Your willingness to open your doors to PREP students strengthens the bridge between education and workforce development and plays a meaningful role in inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, technologists, and creators.
