Mobile Planetarium

Since 2016, the SUU Mobile Planetarium sponsored by SC Broadband, has traveled throughout Southern Utah, Southeast Nevada, and Northern Arizona, offering K–12 students and the local community a unique, immersive learning experience through live and prerecorded shows.
While the main focus is on astronomy and sky observations, our shows also explore ecosystems, oceans, geology, space exploration, and other scientific themes.

Is the Planetarium a Good Fit for Your School or Event?

The 6-meter dome accommodates up to 40 people, though 30 provides a more comfortable viewing experience. For larger groups, multiple shows can be scheduled.

Shows vary from 20 minutes to 45 minutes with most shows lasting 30 minutes.

The planetarium must be set up indoors. Covered pavilions and other outdoor spaces are not suitable.

The dome requires a minimum ceiling height of 12’ and a flat floor area of 25' x 25' free from obstructions.

At least one standard electrical outlet must be available near the setup area.

Allow at least one hour for setup and one hour for takedown.
