Southern Utah STEM Awards
The Southern Utah STEM Awards are here to bring recognition to those who are working hard to share STEM throughout our community in southern Utah. There are incredible things happening in STEM across southern Utah in many areas including teaching, outreach, and business. Awards will be given to educators ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Educators included for nominations may be from county school districts as well as private and charter schools.
Counties Included: Washington, Kane, San Juan, Iron, Garfield, Beaver, Piute, Wayne, Millard, Grand, Emery and Sevier.
Teachers will be awarded in each category
- Excellence in Science
- Excellence in Technology
- Excellence in Engineering
- Excellence in Mathematics
Additionally, awards will be given to professors, staff and students in higher education that exemplify excellence in STEM education and outreach and accomplishment. Many businesses in southern Utah have been welcoming and a positive force in STEM education and may be awarded as well.
Southern Utah University, Utah Tech University, Southwest Technical College, and Dixie Technical College are happy to award and celebrate those involved. Each spring, nominations will open for anyone to share how their favorite STEM educators have made a difference in student lives through STEM principles and teaching. As well as, nominations for businesses in southern Utah that have been a positive impact on STEM education. In April, winners will be announced and awarded at the Southern Utah STEM Awards banquet.
