Joint MAcc/MBA Admission Requirements



SUU has decided to offer a joint MAcc/MBA to help its students reach their goals. Both programs are AACSB accredited and tailored to create the leaders of tomorrow, today. Students will receive time with instructors dedicated to fostering their professional development. They will be instructed by professors with real-world experience. This unique approach to education has been successful in placing both Southern Utah University's MAcc and MBA programs in the Top 100 in the nation, according to U.S. News and World Report.


Submit a completed online application, along with the non-refundable $60 application fee.

Application Deadlines

Admission decisions are made on a continuous, rolling basis. As you prepare your application submission, please plan sufficient time to complete the MBA Preparation courses prior to registration. While the MBA Preparation courses do not need to be completed prior to admission, they must be completed prior to course registration.

Complete a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution prior to matriculation.

Submit official transcripts from each college or university attended. Official transcripts must be submitted directly from each prior institution to SUU. Applicants who have graduated from Southern Utah University do not need to submit a transcript.

Submit a professional resume that includes employment history, academic accomplishments and highlights managerial and leadership experience.

Submit a one-page letter describing your goals and expectations in pursuing a Joint MBA / MAcc degree from Southern Utah University and why you would be a valuable addition to the program.

Submit contact information for three (3) academic or professional references as part of the online application. Students who have earned a business degree from SUU in the last three years may waive the letters of recommendation requirement.

Official GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examination) test scores are required for admission. For the Joint program students must meet the standard for both programs in order to be considered for a waiver:

** Additional waivers can be considered on a conditional basis. For consideration please write a short explanation explaining why you should be considered for a waiver and submit it with your application or to gradapps@suu.edu **

To help ensure academic success in the Joint MBA / MAcc program, all candidates must demonstrate a basic level of business proficiency through four required online MBA Preparation courses. The MBA Admissions Committee may waive a specific MBA Preparation course if the applicant has successfully completed a similar course within the prior year. Please contact the Graduate Admissions Coordinator, Stephanie Greenhalgh, at gradapps@suu.edu to request a waiver.

  • The MBA Preparation courses do not need to be completed prior to admission, but they must be completed prior to course registration please plan accordingly. Once an applicant is admitted into the program, they will be provided with a link and instructions on how to get started. Applicants must pass the midterm (if offered) and final exams of each course with a score of 80% or better. Each exam may be taken up to three times and you can skip directly to the exams if desired.

  • You will have lifetime access to each course, the materials, and the assessments for a one-time fee of $69.99 per course.
  • You may use each link to add each course to your cart and make one total purchase of $279.96. You are also welcome to purchase each course individually.

**SUU admissions will determine if foundation courses are needed. Students graduating from an AACSB accredited accounting program will not be required to complete MAcc foundation courses**

Students missing one or more of these courses can be admitted to a pre-business program to complete any missing foundations. However, this will delay their graduation from both programs.
