Students around a fire

Trips & Adventures Program

SUU Outdoors sponsors a range of adventures for current students throughout the school year to ignite a passion in the great outdoors. We host Trips including hiking, canyoneering, climbing, rafting, paddleboarding, xc skiing, and snowshoeing throughout the Southern Utah region. Our trips include the Bigger, Badder, Radder series, exploring deeper into the backcountry, and local evening events located around the Cedar City area. Sign ups for these events will be located at Base Camp in the Student Center, two weeks prior to the scheduled trip.

Adventure Trips

The Adventure Trips Program is for current students and has no cost associated with participating. Current students can come sign up for these trips two Mondays before the date listed at noon in Basecamp. Bring your student ID with you.

Want to go deeper into the woods? The Bigger, Badder, Radder Trips take you on adventures that are a bit more immersive. These trips are still beginner friendly, but longer and offer a more robust experience. They do have a cost associated with them, but are well worth it!

LEAP- Local Events and Programming

SUU Outdoors new program LEAP hosts weekly events that include local or on campus happenings that are free for students, and don't require any registration.

OES- Outdoor Education Series

Come learn and be inspired from local Outdoor Professionals in our Outdoor Education Series! These clinics and presentations, held every other week at SUU Outdoors' Basecamp, are designed to educate, inspire, and get you excited about getting outside. Learn more about climbing, how to fix your bike, what to pack for your next backpacking trip, hear about others' adventures, and much more!
