No! More than 80% of our band is composed of non-music majors from disciplines across campus.
White many of our incoming students believe this when they first join, most find themselves having a lot of downtime once the school year beings. This is the perfect time to join organizations like the marching band. You won't regret it!
Yes! The marching band at SUU is one of the only organizations which pays its members. In addition, section leaders, drum majors, and student staff receive extra stipends within the SUU Athletic Bands.
There is nothing like being a part of a large group of diverse students working together towards a common goal. We perform great shows and represent the University at home and on away game trips. You will gain lifelong friendships and a love for SUU! #GoTBirds
The marching band meets Monday/Wednesday (6:30pm-7:45pm) and Friday (4pm-6pm). The course title is MUSC 3200.
