VITAL Program (Veterans Integration to Academic Leadership)
Many Veterans enter college and university life directly out of the military. This is a significant life transition, and most people need time to adjust to the new setting, culture, and experiences of campus life. VITAL supports Veterans’ successful integration into college and university campus life through:
- Promotion of positive cohesion between Veterans and the entire learning community through campus and community clinical education and training
- Seamless access to VA health care services and on-campus clinical counseling
- Providing efficient care coordination of all available services
The Veteran Success Coordinator works with the VITAL program to help provide assistance transitioning from military to college life and help enhance academic success through:
- VA clinical referrals for mental health
- Enrolling or transferring VA Healthcare
- Setting up academic accommodations
