Office of Learning Abroad

SUU's Office of Learning Abroad works to foster empathy, cultural and global understanding, experiential learning, and personal enrichment in all of the university's students, faculty, and staff by providing them with these opportunities to take part in international programs. These programs are divided into four categories: semester exchange abroad, short-term study abroadvolunteer and internship abroad, and National Student Exchange. A map of all of our currently available study abroad programs is located at the bottom of this page.

News & Announcements

    • Información en español aqui.
    • "Sometimes the best place to learn isn’t the classroom, sometimes it’s in an entirely different country."  Read  "What is Study Abroad?", written by Abbie Cochrane.
    • SUU students are studying abroad! In 2021-2022, over 250 SUU students expanded their world by studying abroad. We expect that number to increase dramatically in 2022-2023. For the safety of our students and faculty--and those they interact with, some of whom might be more vulnerable than others--all study abroad participants must provide proof of vaccination against COVID. If you want to study abroad in 2022-2023, we can make it possible. Stop by our office or contact us.

    • SUU offers a Global Studies Minor for all students who want to enhance their undergraduate degree. Enroll in HSS 2000 Intro to Global Studies (1 CH, online).

    • The Global Review is SUU's own international study abroad-based journal. Anyone who has studied abroad and is interested in sharing their work and being published should submit!
  • Through the Global Engagement Academy, SUU faculty and staff can enhance their understanding of international students' cultural, academic, and linguistic challenges; learn step-by-step how to build a study abroad program; be prepared to travel safely overseas; learn about professional opportunities in other countries; and more. Register today and complete modules at your own pace.
