Placing book requests

ILL request screen

After you've checked your item's availability at SUU, log in to ILLiad. To begin your book request, click on "Book" under the New Requests dropdown in the toolbar at the top of the page in ILLiad.

Next, fill out the request form with information about the item you want. Please be as detailed as possible in your request! This helps Library staff find your item.

Books are sent by mail; they typically arrive within 1-2 weeks. We will try to borrow from nearby libraries so items arrive quickly.

You will receive an email notice when your book is ready to pick up. Bring your photo ID to the Check Out desk on the first floor to pick it up.

Note: Textbooks cannot be ordered through Interlibrary Loan. You can loan select textbooks through our T-Bird Texts program.

Placing book chapter requests

To request a book chapter, log in to ILLiad and select "Book Chapter" from the New Requests dropdown. Fill out the request form with details about your item and hit submit.

Most book chapters will be posted as PDF files to your ILLiad account. Chapters may take 1-3 days to arrive. You will receive an email alert that the chapter is available in ILLiad for you to download.

To access your requested book chapters, log in to ILLiad and click the Electronically Received Articles link to view or download the chapter. Please note that the PDF file is only accessible for 30 days. If you want to keep it, you must save it to your own computer or flash drive.
