At SUMA, we celebrate our members through exclusive events that highlight our permanent collection and give context to our exhibitions. Higher membership levels, such as Supporter and above, enjoy more events throughout the year with more hands-on and exclusive content!
Exhibition Preview Events
For all membership levels
Our members are the first to view each exhibition and engage with artists, curators, and other important guests. These events happen three times a year during our fall, spring, and summer exhibition seasons.
Collectively Inspired
For Supporter level members and above
These in-depth programs often give members exclusive access to objects in our collection that are not typically on display. SUMA partners with guest lecturers to provide additional connections to art history, our community, and the world at large.
Patron's Reception
For Patron level members and above
Our Patron level members enjoy an annual event in partnership with the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Our friends across the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts help us connect our members to productions in ways not often accessible to the general public.
SUU President's Gala
For Collector level members and above
Joining the Friends of SUMA at the Collector level or above grants donors access to the President’s Giving Society, which recognizes donors across campus. These generous supporters are honored at the President’s Gala, an annual event that takes place each December.
Discounts to Events
For all membership levels
Friends of SUMA members receive free or reduced admission to ticketed events throughout the year, including programming like the annual Art Auction, Teen Art Camp, Community Creates, and more.
A Very SUMA Holiday and SUMA Shop Summer Sale
For all membership levels
In addition to a standing 20% discount in the SUMA Shop, members can expect deeper discounts semiannually through our special sales events. A Very SUMA Holiday kicks off after the Thanksgiving holiday on Small Business Saturday and runs throughout the following week. The Summer Sale is an exclusive members-only sale that takes place between July 4 – 24. Members can expect a 30% discount during both sales events.
