How Can You Support SUMA?

With your support, SUMA will continue to present thought-provoking exhibitions by local, regional, national and international artists to the communities of southern Utah. You may remember past examples of this such as Al Farrow: Wrath & Reverence in 2019 or Right Here Right Now in 2020. In addition, your support means sustaining a place of inspiration, creativity, and learning for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Despite the challenges of a global pandemic, the museum remained committed to providing meaningful programs that foster engagement and experiential learning for the campus and community. The staff is excited to ensure the visual arts remain accessible to the public, including new partnerships with Cedar Breaks National Monument and continued programs with partners such as artsFUSION, Frontier Homestead State Park, Cedar City Library, SUU STEM Center, Frehner Museum of Natural History, and many more.

Here are some reasons why you should consider donating today:

“Why do I support SUMA? So many reasons! Community impact--seeing kids who’ve toured bring their parents to see the exhibits. Expanding Cedar’s artistic presence with the visual arts. Watching graduate students and undergraduate students at SUU grow artistically and personally. Enjoying volunteer opportunities to meet our guests. Immersing myself in exhibits that expand my understanding of the arts. And last but not least, ensuring that this museum continues to grow and thrive.”

Joanne Brattain, SUMA Advisory Board Member

“SUMA’s timing during the pandemic was incredible. They seemed to know how badly the Coronavirus had affected the art businesses in town and were there to support us and the artists! We are resoundingly grateful here for the continuing impact they have on the community here in southern Utah.”

Nick Froyd, Color Country Art Supply

Did you know?

That gifts as low as $30 help the museum. That amount can help SUMA purchase insect traps for pest management. A gift of $100 can cover the cost of art supplies for a classroom kit. No amount is too small to positively impact the museum!
